When working as part of a team, particularly for a club or society, there is a traditional routine to the year that is set out for you as you're incoming. Welcome to semester drinks, end of semester cruise, end of year ball, mid-year careers sessions, orientation week, award nights. Teams tend to stick to what was handed down to them, and do the bare minimum by reproducing those events year after year. This stagnates the growth of your club and will begin to bore your members, as they find other, new, more exciting events to go to.
Adding more frequent and diverse events to the club calendar doesn't have to be rocket science. There are plenty of easy events to run that don't require too much effort or money, and can actually be really engaging for your members and rewarding for your executive. The team here at Get have compiled some examples, but think beyond these, and get creative!
